Is Infinix eating TECNO’s cheese in Nigeria?

Infinix TECNO

TECNO used to be the front runner in the low end budget segment in Nigeria, churning out budget Android phones almost every month. The name TECNO was on the lips of almost everyone, but in recent times, we’re seeing a form of paradigm shift.

It seems TECNO has taken a back seat in business. We now hear of the likes of Innjoo, Infinix bubbling every where especially in online stores. What may be attributed tho this new trend? Are people tired and bored with TECNO? These questions have popped up every and then.

Looking at the situation critically. TECNO have relaxed in terms of innovation, most of their current crop of smartphones in the market no longer offer value for money. Trust my people to ‘put nose’ only in places where they get most benefits.

On the other hand, Infinix have raised their game, ever since the release of the Infinix Zero. The Infinix Hot was a classic budget device, the Hot Note and Hot Note Pro series are very popular and always out of stock in online stores.  TECNO devices with 2 GB RAM, the Phantom Z Mini and R7 are quite pricey when compared to their Infinix and Innjoo siblings.

Infinix set to release the Hot Note with 2 GB RAM

Hot Note new

The Infinix Hot Note right from its release was loved by Nigerians. Always running out of stock on Jumia online store, mostly because of it’s great value for money. So far, the phone has lived up to expectations. We did a review of the device on Mobility, and I called it a Hot Big Teen.

During this review, I pointed out we would appreciate if this device had 2 GB RAM. Thankfully, Infinix has listening ears and decided to relaunch this device with a 2 GB RAM version. It’s also worthy of note that the Infinix Hot Note Pro was released a few months ago, during the Jumia Mobile Megathon. It carried a bigger 32 GB storage and 2 GB of RAM, so we can’t really tell if this new one is coming along side it or replacing it.

The new Infinix Hot Note retains former specs and will be available by August.

Unboxing and Hands On with the Infinix Hot 2 X510

Hello Mobilistas!! Are you excited as I am today? Google in collaboration with Infinix launched the Android One project in Nigeria today. This came in the form of a successor to the very popular Infinix Hot device – The Infinix Hot 2. The device found it’s way to our hands and I couldn’t wait to share this Unboxing and Hands on review. Straight to business.
Infinix Hot 2 Front
Whats in the Pack?
The packaging here is not so spectacular – Just a medium sized box. Opening it you see the phone, and underneath that is two boxes. The first containing the USB wall charger, and the second containing booklets, the battery, earphones and USB cable, built to prevent unnecessary twisting.
Infinix Hot 2 Pack
Design and First look
Infinix Hot 2 Sides
In terms of design, the Infinix Hot 2 shares lots of parts with the Infinix Zero series. From a distance, you’ll mistake it for the later. The back camera and flash are positioned similarly. Same with the Power button and volume rockers. The difference here is that the Infinix Hot 2 isn’t as slim as the Infinix Zero, and the back cover is removable.

Infinix Hot 2 Back side

Finally..
This phone has glass protection front and back (can’t ascertain if it’s Gorilla Glass or not). At the back are 2 Micro-SIM slots and a memory card slot. Remember this device runs the latest Android Lollipop 5.1.1 with promised update to Android M. So much to get excited about!! You can see the full spec sheet HERE.

Meanwhile, give us sometime to properly use this device and tell you if it’s worth the purchase or not. We’re that good at MobilityArena.com. Stay Tuned.

Comparison Review: Infinix Hot Vs Infinix Hot 2

Yesterday, Google in collaboration with Infinix launched the Infinix Hot 2. Recall that, late last year, Infinix released the original Infinix Hot and it was a commercial success owing to it’s great value for money. We reviewed it on MobilityArena.com and saw it to be a Classic budget device. The successor is here and we decided to pitch these two together in a comparison review.

Hot VS Hot2

Let’s see the key specifications.

Infinix Hot Infinix Hot 2
Display: 5.0 inches, 480 x 854 pixels, 196 PPI. Display: 5.0 inches, 720 x 1280 pixels, 320 PPI. Glass Protection

Android 4.4.2 KitKat Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
5 MP camera with LED flash and 2 MP front 8 MP camera with LED flash and 2 MP front
16 GB internal storage. Plus microSD, up to 32 GB 16 GB internal storage. Plus microSD, up to 64 GB
2,000 mAh battery 2,200 mAh battery
N16,500 N17,500 (1GB RAM); N19,500 (2GB RAM)

From the above table, we can see that both phones share the same processor and internal memory, and that’s about it. The Infinix Hot 2 comes with a better design and glass finishing, better display and better back camera (Same module in the Infinix Hot Note). The Hot 2 also comes with higher battery capacity and runs the latest version of Android with promised updates in the future.

It’s clear the Infinix Hot 2 dusts the Infinix Hot and in this regard unseats it as the king of budget devices. Meanwhile, expect our review of the Hot 2 soonest.

Budget Nexus Redefined!! : The Infinix Hot 2 Review

The Infinix Hot 2 is a device that has gained lots of (international) recognition, far more than its peers and predecessors. This was championed by the partnership between Google and Infinix to launch this device as part of the former’s Android One project in Africa.

Infinix Hot 2 Box

This is practically the more affordable version of the ever elusive Nexus phone. We’ve been clamoring for this in this part of the world. The launch brought lots of excitement, but does it end there? Compared to other devices within this price range, the Infinix Hot 2 already is champ on paper. How does this reflect in reality? How successful was this marriage between Infinix and Google?

This and more we shall access, and like I promised, well do proper justice to this phone review. Looking at its key features:

  • 5.0 – inch HD IPS display, 720 ×1280 pixels, (298 PPI).
  • Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, upgradeable to Android M.
  • MediaTek MT6580 chip set with quad-core 1.3 GHz processor, Mali 400-MP GPU and 2GB of RAM.
  • 8 MP Auto focus camera with LED flash, pixel count 3840 x 2160 pixels and Video recording of 1080p.
  • 2 MP front-facing camera, with pixel count 2048 x 1152.
  • Fully Partitioned 16 GB internal storage (11 GB usable).
  • Dual SIM support, Both Micro-SIM, 3G switchable.
  • Removable 2200 mAh battery,

Main Disadvantages

  • No USB OTG.
  • Poor resolution front cam video recording.
  • Would’ve had a higher battery rating.

Read the full detailed Infinix Hot 2 Specifications HERE , as well as our Hands on experience and Unboxing HERE.

Hardware

Like we mentioned in the Unboxing review, the Infinix Hot 2 shares a close resemblance to the Infinix Zero series. The lower back side is angled and goes round the lower side of the phone. The Hot 2 also shares similar with the Zero for the positions of camera module, LED flash, volume and power buttons.

Infinix Hot 2 Back side

This phone is made of plastic casing. The phone is nicely built, and feels good to hold. It doesn’t look cheap. until you try to open the back cover then the plastic creaks will be noticed.

The top part has the USB port and 3.5 mm earphone jack. The lower part carries the speaker grill.

Design

The Infinix Hot 2 has great design, though it has a few flaws we’d like to highlight. On the hardware side, the bezels are still too big. Especially at the top and lower ends. Maybe Infinix already finished with this design before Google came along and slapped Android on it. The fact that we have on-screen keys on this device should’ve meant that the lower bezel be made as small as possible. It appears this is the case with budget devices.

Infinix hot 2-Screen waste

On the software side. The onscreen keyboard covers a significant part of the screen. The usable screen space is markedly reduced to about 4.7 inch (approximately). The lower section just comes out plain black on some app interfaces. Normally this should have been transparent or blending with the app interfaces to give a uniform design.

Software

This is the high point of this device. In fact, one of the best selling points. This baby runs stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-the latest version of Android you can find anywhere. Even those carrying some flagships of this world are yet to officially get this software version on their devices. Not only is this the latest Android software, it is the default Android, lean with no bloatware, customization or additional bells and whistles.

Infinix Hot software
There’s this leanness you experience on this device Like something that has been set free from a heavy load. The true Android experience just the way it’s supposed to be. Trust me guys, that feeling is rare, and can only be experienced on the Infinix Hot 2 or any Nexus device.

Lastly, the last software advantage here is that owners of the Infinix Hot 2 as part of the Android One program will receive software updates for a period of two years. At least, we’re rest assured of getting Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) as soon as it comes, while our brothers on TECNO, Innjoo and the rest are languishing on Android KitKat.

Display and User Interface

The Infinix Hot 2 shipped with an HD display of resolution of 720 x 1280, and PPI 320. The display is great and exactly what you would expect from a HD Display. When the brightness is set at its lowest, there’s this dark greenish tint you get in places meant to be white, maybe it’s my eyes, or maybe it’s from the stock Android theme. Cranking up the brightness normalizes everything though.

Infinix Hot2 UI

This device has great viewing angles. Tilt it, and you still get to see whatever is happening. Sunlight legibility here is bad-same for every device on this price segment. But increasing the brightness let’s you see well under sunlight.

Like we mentioned earlier, the Infinix Hot 2 runs stock Android Lollipop, so the user interface is pure Android, exactly the way it’s founding fathers made it to be. The notification bar, home screen, app drawer is all stock Lollipop.

Camera

The camera is 8 MP at the back and 2 MP for the front. Though, we later discovered it’s actually 8.3 MP/2.4 MP respectively. The back camera really takes in light unlike other 8 MP sensors we’ve tried. Images come out sharp and colors are more natural. In dark places, the flash does well and pictures come out clear, though you can’t compare them with the flagship phones we have now.

The 2 MP front camera takes good selfies – but there’s this gripe I have with Infinix for not making it wide angled. The case is same with other Infinix models like the Infinix Hot and Infinix Hot Note.

To show us how good the camera of the Hot 2 is, below are comparison pictures with the Gionee M2 that has same 8 MP camera. Now you be the judge. The Hot 2 sample is at the top and Gionee M2 sample below:

Night time shot.

Hot 2-vs-M2-night

Daylight shot.

Hot 2-vs-M2-day

Multimedia

The Infinix Hot 2 has good sounding speakers, Music playback is loud and clear. Google Play Music comes as default and isn’t bad at all. Music listening is ok, here both with external speakers or with earphones. The default Android video player is crap.

To enjoy a better video watching experience, you would have to install a 3rd party app like MX Player. The FM Radio after initial scan automatically saves a list of favorite stations. It also supports recording.

Multitasking /Performance

The Infinix Hot 2 is great for multitasking. The 2 GB RAM just glides along with the stock Android. Open the likes of WhatsApp, GReader Pro , Chrome (with 5 tabs open), and going back to each of them, everything still remains just like you left them.

One funny thing here. The Hot 2 and Gionee M2 runs same 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, but the Hot 2 performs considerably faster. Below are screen shots of its AnTuTu Benchmark and Quadrant tests.

Infinix Hot2 tests (2)-horz

Battery life
Fans and enthusiasts have asked, why would this device carry a (meager) 2200 mAh battery? Folks will hang on to see a review like this to be sure of how the battery lasts before making a purchase. Ears are tingling in anticipation to know how the 2200 mAh battery measures up.

With 2 SIM cards installed and steady 3G, 4 hours or browsing and chatting, a few calls, 2 hours movie playback and 1 hour of gaming, we were able to achieve approximately 8 hours of use before the battery hit 5%. On average use, the Infinix Hot 2 should take you through one day of use. Below is a screenshot of how long it can last. The straight line parts of the graph indicates standby by times.

Infinix Hot 2 Battery (2)-horz

Switching to EDGE will save you extra power. Switching to the battery saver mode will even save you extra juice.

Miscellaneous
The Infinix Hot 2 has no Double Tap to Wake function, No USB OTG, though the option appears in Settings, we inserted a USB cable and nothing showed up.

On this phone, after first boot up, you can’t side load any apk at all. You can’t access files/folders because there’s no default file manager. You’ll have to connect to internet, install a file manager and Xender (or any other file transfer app), or you transfer your apk files through Bluetooth.

Another observation, when WiFi hotspot was shared from this device to my Windows 7 laptop, it refused to connect but it connected on another Windows 8 machine. We can’t really conclude if this is a Windows 7 issue. But we’ll see if the problem can be rectified.

Like every other Nexus device, you can’t peg the Infinix Hot 2 to full 3G (only preferred or auto mode). You’ll need an extra app like Notification Toggle to peg it to 3G.

This phone doesn’t heat up. While charging or while gaming. A big ups to Infinix and Google on this one. Call clarity here is loud, clear and audible. The 16 GB internal storage is fully partitioned with 11.78 GB usable. There’s a notification light at the top that blinks red when any notifications arrive or green the the battery hits 90% while charging.

Some apps came pre-installed on this device and they include : Carlcare, MTN Music+, My 2015 app, Naij and Jumia store apps.

Final Words
The Infinix Hot 2 is a beautiful device inside out. The important thing here is that it’s targeted to a group of users. Do you want to experience Android in it’s purest and truest form? Get the Hot 2. Do you want to use the latest version of Android on your device, and also receive the latest update as it comes? Get the Hot 2.

We have a few gripes with the No USB OTG, and most especially the battery life. I personally would’ve greatly appreciated if the battery rated up to say 3000 mAh. But then, the price would have escalated, and that would deviate from the true purpose of the Android One project which is offering the best possible specs at the cheapest of prices.

The Infinix Hot 2 can be summed up with this phrase: It’s the budget Nexus device redefined!!

The implications of the Google Android One partnership with Infinix

$

0

Last week, Google in collaboration with Infinix brought the Android One project to Africa, with Nigeria as the first port of call. It was good exciting news, because we never expected the Android One project to reach Nigeria, at least not this soon. But hey, It’s here and worth celebrating.
Android-One-Infinix
Now let’s look at this critically, “Google partnering with Infinix”. Have you wondered to ask, “What’s in it for both of them?”

From the Google point of view, they stand to gain more users in their ecosystem. In fact, that has been the ultimate goal for Google-getting as many people as possible to use their services which translates to more ad revenue. The Android One project aims to take Google services farther to emerging countries, bringing good quality devices at affordable prices, and taking it to places where people can’t afford the expensive phones.

Looking at the Infinix side, they’re the ones benefiting the most. You see, this collaboration has announced them globally. With that move, they made headlines all over the world. Top blogs like GsmArena, PhoneArena, MobilityArena 😉 etc, carried it as news. In lay man terms, Infinix don hammer!!

Remember, the Infinix Hot 2 will also be launched in 5 more African countries : Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, and Morocco. I doubt Infinix had a presence there before now, and most importantly this translates to thousand more units of the Hot 2 being shipped out.

Did I also mention that the Infinix Hot 2 now has a thread on XDA Developers? You can imagine the good stuff that would come out of it. Check it out HERE.
Meanwhile, if I were Infinix, I would push to release more Android One devices, because Google would be indirectly advertising it for me. You can then imagine how sweet this partnership is.

We should take a cue from this and push for similar mutually beneficial partnerships, both in our lives and businesses.

Android One is launched in Ghana, Microsoft acquires two firms, and other news we missed last week

$

0

Below is a breakdown of news headlines we failed to report last week:

Android-One-Infinix

Google has just launched the Android One project in Ghana. This was done in collaboration with Infinix Mobility and Jumia Ghana. As reported by Pulse Ghana, the device launched was also the Infinix Hot 2. If we can recall, Google planned to push the Android One project to 5 more African countries (Egypt, Ghana, Google, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco) alongside Nigeria.

Microsoft

Over the past week, Microsoft acquired two firms. The first is Double Labs, the makers of Echo Notification Lockscreen on Android. According to Android Authority, they plan to integrate the features of this app across Microsoft apps that use notifications. Microsoft also acquired cloud security firm Adallom, and the deal reportedly cost $250 million. This was done in a bid to strengthen their grip in the cloud sector.

Following the launch of new iPhones, Apple is also set to release their latest software – iOS 9. The new software is said to feature, Intelligent Search and improved Siri, Performance improvement,  Split-screen multitasking for iPad etc. It will work on all devices able to run iOS 8, this includes the A5-based iPhone 4s and iPad 2. The software will be made available to the public starting, September 16.

MyAds

A unique service called MyAds just launched in Nigeria. The app rewards users for displaying targeted ads on their phones during incoming calls. After installing the app, you register with your phone number, and start earning points which can be converted to airtime. The app is currently only available on Android.

Google is finding it’s way back to China. If you didn’t know before, the Chinese don’t use any of Google’s services. Even the Android devices in China don’t have any G-apps installed. But this is about to change. Phandroid reports that Google has almost concluded talks with the Chinese government to introduce a stripped down version of Google Play Store. This one would only contain apps approved by the Chinese government.

Oppo-R7-Barca

Lastly, Oppo has ties with Barcelona FC. Remember the Oppo R7 Plus, they’ve just made a custom version of the device autographed by Barcelona FC stars Messi, Iniesta and Alves. Only 5,000 units of this phone was made and proceeds from the sale would go to  FC Barcelona Foundation. Nice one there Oppo!!

That’s all the important news we missed last week. Cheers.

This post is for Infinix users that have mistakenly bricked their devices for one reason or the other. Especially users of the new Infinix Hot 2. I’ve received lots of complains – People trying to root and bricking their phones in the process. If you find yourself in such situations, here’s what you should do:

  • Visit the Infinix Support website HERE.
  • Go to Select Service and pick Software Updates.
  • Go ahead to pick your device. In this case, we pick the Hot 2.

Select-software

There are 2 methods to do the Restoration. With PC or Without PC

If you plan to download the software via your phone make sure you install MEGA app HERE, and register an account with them.

Without PC

  • Download the ROM file HERE .(It’s named update.zip) and place it on the root of your SD card. (Root means on the outside, not in any folder).
  • Boot to recovery mode by pressing Power button and Volume + key simultaneously.
  • Use Volume keys to navigate and Power button to Enter.
  • Select Apply Update from SD Card and navigate to where you kept the update.zip file.select-update-zip
  • Press the Power button to select and allow it to automatically update the phone.
  • The phone restarts and that’s all.

You can also download the guide HERE.

With PC

  • Download and Install MediaTek USB VCOM Drivers HERE.
  • Download the Update guide HERE.
  • Download the Infinix Flash tools HERE.

You’ll notice there are two ROMs available for the Hot 2.

The first one HERE, is the Android 5.1 ROM from Infinix. It has extra features like Font Changer, Hot Knot, Miravision and some extra apps.

The second one HERE, is the Android One ROM from Infinix. This is the one we’re all familiar with, and on this one, we’re sure of direct updates from Google.

First off all, install the VCOM drivers, then follow the guide religiously, and you’ll be fine. Make sure to buzz me if you encounter any issues.

Many thanks to Notiki Bello for the tip.

Guess what the Blackberry Q5 and Infinix Hot 2 have in common

For a few days now the Blackberry Q5 and the Infinix Hot 2 are my daily drivers. Keeping me informed, handling emails, chats and other stuff. I see these two guys as an ideal combo. The beloved Blackberry hardware keyboard balanced by the rougher Android side of life.
Infinix-Hot2-Blackbery-Q5
You may wonder, “What then could these two distinct devices have in common?” Placed these two babies together and side-by-side, then something struck me. Look at the images below and tell me what you observe.
Hot2-Q5

See those 3 holes at the lower part of both phones? That’s the speaker grill. It’s amazing to see that both devices share similar design in that aspect. In this world of extremes, differences and complexities, we may just find common ground if only we can sit and observe.

A quick look at the changelog tells a lot. – There’s a new camera setting that brings many new features,
– Added alphabetical sorting of apps,
– Added ability to move apps to SD card, etc.

It was also good to learn that Infinix works with feedback through their XClub forums.

Good news!! Infinix Hot 2 is getting a beefier battery

$

0

Its all positive news we’re getting from Infinix these days. Remember the Infinix Hot 2- a beautiful device we reviewed here on MobilityArena. If you recall, from that review, I suggested the phone would’ve been better with a bigger capacity battery.

Infinix-Hot-2-Battery

Earlier today, Infinix shared some good news through their social media handles. They’re preparing a 3000 mAh battery for the Infinix Hot 2 model. This is probably from numerous feedback from users. See their tweet below

From what we’ve seen, this would be a replacement or spare for the 2200 mAh the phone originally comes with. There’s no word yet when this will be available. I’m surely getting this whenever it’s released.

Top 5 problems of the Infinix Hot 2 and their solutions

The Infinix Hot 2 is one of the most impressive budget devices we’ve seen in Nigeria for the year 2015. Why so? The phone is an Android One device. This simply means that Google partnered with Infinix to make the phone. Hence, users of this device will receive the latest Android updates as they come, directly from Google.

That asides, looking at the spec vs price angle, there are few devices that come close. After going through various complaints from people and threads in Nairaland, I’ve decided to compile the most common issues with the phone and proffer solutions for them.

Before we proceed, Here are things you should know:

  • The Infinix Hot 2 runs stock Android. This is very different from what you see on the regular Android devices you’ve used or seen before. This phone runs raw Android – just the way founding fathers made it to be – without any extra customization. You should have this at the back of your mind.
  • You need to set up your Gmail account before using this phone. You can’t do much on this phone if you don’t do that immediately after purchase. Simply login (if you already have an account) or create a new one.

Now back to the common problems and their solutions.

  • I can’t see a file manger

After signing in with your Gmail account, the first thing you need to do is run to Google Play Store, and download a file manager. Es File Explorer is highly recommended.

  • I can’t use a custom song as ringtone

When you notice you can’t set a song as ringtone, then next thing is, use your ES File Explorer, navigate to the song you want, and set that as your ringtone.

  • I can’t find any gallery

The Infinix Hot 2 actually has a gallery app called Google Photos. Though, I’ll admit, the app looks weird and different from what we’re used to. To fix the problem, run along to Google Play Store and download Quick Pic. It is a lightweight and fast gallery app. Highly recommended.

  • I can’t play videos

If you can’t find a good video player on your phone, again Quick Pic is decent. For a more rounded experience, go ahead to Google Play Store and download MX Player.

  • The phone doesn’t have HSDPA

So because the phone shows 3G on the network signal bar (instead of H+), you people have concluded the phone doesn’t have HSDPA. If you dig around Setting -> About section, you’ll clearly see where it is shown. The phone has HSDPA. However, if you need to be able to see it reflected as an icon in the status bar, you can still go farther, by rooting, install Xposed Framework and Gravity Box, then set it up to write H+ on the status bar.

That’s all for now. The list will be updated as soon as see more issues to be addressed. You can sound of your thoughts in the comments box. Cheers and a Happy Independence Celebrations.

A while ago, we announced the availability of the Infinix XUI Lollipop update for Infinix phones. This was a customized version of Lollipop for the Infinix Zero 2,and all the variants of the Infinix Hot Note (this includes the Hot Note Pro and Hot Note 16 GB + 2GB).

The XUI software is based on Android Lollipop, hence it comes with all the design cues of the new OS. During my brief hands-on with it, the software ran smoothly and was responsive. Below are a few screenshots of the XUI:

It also has a Themes feature which is really cool.

If you want the upgrade, sad to say, it’s not available over-the-air. You’ll need a PC and some tools to do that. Download the software version for your device HERE. Then follow the instructions HERE on how to install it. Another option is to walk down to the Infinix stand in a SLOT store closest to you, and ask for your upgrade. Please note that this may not be available in all the stores.

Now to some other juicy info. Credible sources have confirmed the 3000 mAh battery for the Hot 2 is already in stock and will be available for purchase soonest. Infinix is also preparing to launch another device this November, the Infinix Hot Note 2.

Infinix is on fire!! About two weeks ago, they released a major lollipop update for Hot Note (and Note Pro) users. This came with lot’s of changes, mostly bugs fixed and additional features the phone never had. Another update has just arrived for same set of phones. This one weighs in about 145 MB and you’re advised, to unroot your Android device if you must install this.

Below are the major features of this update:

  • Added System Manager which includes Mobile Cleanup, App Manager, Network Manager, etc.
  • Added 3G only option in network type selection.
  • Optimized password lock and PIN lock input on lock screen, directly entering when entering the wrong password.
  • Fixed other issues from XCLUB fans.
  • Improved battery and system performance and other fixed issues etc.

You may wonder how this came to be. The secret is the Infinix forums, otherwise known as XCLUB – here users drop their complaints. The major issues are collated and fixed through software updates. Best of all, these updates are done over-the-air.

You need to be on Lollipop to be receiving these updates. The process is a bit tricky, but once you’re past that, you’re in for a good treat.

Thanks once again to Shayman for sending this in.

These days it seems we’re just reporting news on Infinix. But hey! What the heck? Following the success of their previous Hot model, Infinix has announced they sold over 150,000 units of its latest device, the Infinix Hot 2. Actual figures is 157,860 units in Nigeria. Not bad at all.

This was achieved in less than 2 months of release, and the company claims 70% of sales happened online. From our review on MobilityArena.com the Infinix HOT 2 is the Budget Nexus Redefined. The company uses online media to interact with users, like the XCLUB forum. From here, they get feedback from users which is used in software updates like we have seen on the Infinix Hot Note series.

Bruno Li country Manager said:

“My answer is customer’s participation. Infinix is not only selling devices, but the desire for its fans to build and be part of High-tech improvement”.

I hear they’re working on a browser, and they’re currently doing a survey to know what users want.
